The debt-ceiling deal struck earlier this summer created a panel of six Republicans and six Democratsdubbed the "super committee"to find ways to reduce the deficit. If they can't, a slew of automatic spending cuts kicks in. One of the members of the panel, Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) joins us to talk about his role on the committee and what the group is up against.

Historian Michael Barrick explains why the notion of “American exceptionalism” is dangerous to have now in America. It’s the basis of his new book, The Dangerous Delusion of American Exceptionalism.

Marketing expert Ola Mobolade explains the importance of a growing multicultural audience in today’s advertising. Her provocative insights and street-level grasp of these crucial market segments are also the topic of the new book, Marketing to the New Majority, which she co-authored with David Burgos.

In the 90's, Malik Yoba became an overnight sensation in his role as J.C. Williams, a street-smart police detective and loving father on the hit FOX show New York Undercover. In his latest role on the hit Syfy series Alphas, Yoba has been elevated to superhero statusliterally. He plays Bill Harken, a former FBI detective with special super strength powers.
