Two years ago this weekend the economic crisis officially began with the collapse of Lehman Bros.  CNBC host Maria Bartiromo was there and recounts the start of the Great Recession in her text, The Weekend That Changed Wall Street:  An Eyewitness Account.

Dr. Cornel West contextualizes the contributions of the Little Rock 9 in light of the passing of one of its members, Jefferson Thomas.

Sports commentator George Johnson says Saints running back Reggie Bush needs to come clean and give back his Heisman trophy in light of the sanctions against his alma mater USC.

NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith makes the case for a collective bargaining agreement which better addresses players’ healthcare needs and other issues as a work stoppage looms over the league for the 2011 season.

President Obama's proposed $50 Billion public works plan has become the latest object of partisan-fueled disaffection.  Democratic governor Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania and Republican South Carolina governor Mark Sanford take turns exchanging viewpoints on whether spending is the answer to a stagnant job market.

Commentator Deroy Murdock says the President’s proposed $50 billion public works plan is music to conservatives’ ears…but not in the way you might think; just more evidence that the economy has been subject to too many stimulus packages.

We listen back to the last conversation of comedian Robert Schimmel on the program, who passed away this week due to injuries from an auto accident.

R&B singer El DeBarge, shares his story of addiction, prison and ultimately redemption as he returns to the music scene with a new song and forthcoming CD, Second Chance.
