Clifton Taulbert – “The Invitation”
Best-selling author Clifton Taulbert has come a long way since his childhood in then-segregated Glen Allan, MS. He achieved critical acclaim for his memoir, “Once Upon A Time When We Were Colored”, which was later adapted into an award-winning film. And he was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for his second memoir, “The Last Train North”. Taulbert tells us about his latest memoir, “The Invitation”, which chronicles the transformative journey he took when he accepted an invitation to dinner at a former plantation house in South Carolina.
