Darnell Hunt – 2014 Hollywood Diversity Report
The summer movie season is underway, and the vast majority of major films will have been produced and written by white men, with mostly white men in the lead roles. As part of its Hollywood Advancement Project, the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies at UCLA has examined the diversity gap in the film and television industries. The center’s most recent findings can be found in its 2014 Hollywood Diversity Report. Darnell Hunt, a sociology professor at UCLA and director of the Bunche Center, examines Hollywood’s diversity disconnect.
