Paul Pierson, professor of Political Science at the University of California looks at why he thinks government has been good for America’s prosperity as outlined in his book, co-written with Jacob Hacker, American Amnesia: How the War on Government Led Us to Forget What Made America Prosper.

Rev. Jim Wallis has long been at the forefront of progressive theological thought. The prominent author, speaker and founder of the Christian organization Sojourners has written 12 books, including two New York Times bestsellers. His latest is America’s Original Sin: Racism, White Privilege, and the Bridge to a New America. Jim Wallis joins us for a look at the impact of race on the presidential election campaigns.

Back in the early 1970s, Santana released its third studio album, appropriately titled “Santana III.” It was the final album recorded by the Woodstock-era members of the band – until now. Carlos Santana is reuniting with his old bandmates for “Santana IV,” their first studio album in 45 years. He joins us for his first interview since announcing the project.
