There is perhaps no name more synonymous with the anti-lynching movement than that of Ida B. Wells. A new anthology of her work, “The Light of Truth: Writings of an Anti-Lynching Crusader,” covers the scope of Wells’ career, from her early writings to her anti-lynching exposés. Mia Bay, professor of history at Rutgers University and director of the Rutgers Center for Race and Ethnicity, edited the collection and joins us to discuss Wells and her work.
