In a new study, “Who’s in Danger: Race, Poverty and Chemical Disasters”, researchers found that a disproportionate number of African-Americans and Latinos live near chemical plants and are more susceptible to dangers associated with industrial accidents. Michele Roberts, national co-coordinator for Environmental Justice and Health Alliance for Chemical Policy Reform and a co-author of the report, shares its findings.
