This week Tavis participated in a virtual town hall meeting hosted by the Tavis Smiley Foundation and RESULTS, a national anti-poverty organization, to discuss the state of poverty in the United States and what organizations and individuals can do to influence public policy. In this segment, we’re going to bring you excerpts from the hour-long discussion. You’ll hear from the executive director of RESULTS, Joanne Carter; author and congressional candidate Marianne Williamson; and Angela Sutton, co-chair of the advisory board of Witnesses to Hunger, a project run by the Center for Hunger-Free Communities at the Drexel University School of Public Health in Philadelphia.
